Bucketlist: Traveling Alone in S’Pore 3

Alas, a month after my Singapore trip I’m now strong enough to share with you all why I got left by the plane! My flight was 2 in the afternoon and I left 7 am to do one last photo walk.
You can’t always get the right shot. #ForeverAlone
But I’m cool with that.

Paya Lebar MRT Station
I absolutely appreciated how disciplined everyone was, and how easy it was for me to get the hang of the MRT system. This red arrow signifies that this is where people hopping on the train should be coming from when entering. The front of the door is kept free to give way to those who alight the train.
Rubi clutch from Abi-love!
Marina Bay Sands Mall

The Marina Bay Sands Mall was one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. Of course, I’ve never been to much… but still! It was like Rockwell meets Greenbelt 5 meets Maxims meets Manila Polo Club. Or something like that.
“And we stuntin’ like Gucci, Gucci, Louis, Louis, Fendi…
… Prada! The basic … wear that shh so I don’t even bother!”
Dripping ceilings. Because fountains are so last century.
I am in love with the art of everything. And I am in love with the lines and the intricate details that make of this building.
On asking for the way out, the concierge suggests that I visit Marina Bay Garden before I go. And in looking back at the photos today, I don’t consider it a mistake anymore. I’m actually happy I got the chance to see it before I went back.
Majestic architecture.
Malay Garden
Around this garden were posters with stories and myths of trees, plants, and flowers.
Going up to the viewing deck.
The Singapore Eye and me! I’ll leave the ridiculous camera setup for this photo to your imagination. After this shot, I checked the time and literally ran to the MRT.
I guess that’s what makes solo travel a different kind of adventure. I am the only one affected by the mistakes I make and triumphs are sweeter because they’re my own. No, traveling alone is not a lonely feat at all, in fact such a brave one! For you to survive, you’ve got to pack yourself a lot of maturity, street-smarts, and decision-making skills, as well as a good sense of direction (and from what I learned, a great sense of time).
More on my insights in a magazine next month! Will be tweeting about it, so make sure to get your copy. 🙂
Till my next solo endeavor!
xx C
